Shame on Us

Republic Day honors the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act as the governing document of India.
The National Bravery Awards The awards are given by the Government of India and the Indian council for child welfare . The awards are given to children who were between the ages of six to eighteen when they committed their acts of bravery.
chiimmiii's happy world
Every year many kids get bravery awards which is good thing but what kind of society and country we are giving them. To live here they have to deal with all these critical conditions called human trafficking, child labor, child rape, Lack of proper sanitation, poverty, corruption, Debt bondage, poor education, caste related issues, violence etc.

And we are those adults who are creating this world, full of these conditions and they have to manage to survive in this beautiful world. They have to focus on how to make things correct rather than enjoying their life as kid.

Shame on us.

This is what we are doing.
Take a pause and think about it for a minute.
I am sure you will feel guilty and sorry for them as I am feeling now.

Think about it.
Is this the world in which you wanted your kid to live????

  2. So sad what children are put through and expected to endure. I love kids. I'm just glad I do not have any in today's society. It would be so hard to be a parent.

  5. I feel shame cause kids don't get the proper education and we do nothing about it... if everyone in this world would have the proper education (and when I say proper I don't mean what they learn to school, and advanced mathematics, and chemistry), world would be a better place!

  7. It's so hard to read about kids that are treated poorly. Makes my heart hurt. I really hope the people are able to solicit government change through grass-roots organizations.

  9. So awful! Children should not be involved in things and matters which are between adults. They can't understand why something bad is happening. I just can't bear it . Children are so innocent.

  11. We should strive to give the kids, our kids, a better future and that includes a better world for them to live in. I hope that this post will open the eyes of many and that it would help people realize that this kind of lifestyle needs to change.

  12. The world can be a truly cruel place, no child should have to bare such atrocities. But with this award, gives them hope and praises their courage, it is not a bad thing to give children hopes and dreams.

    1. Yeah true, its good as well as it shows that kids have to be brave because their elders have failed to give them a good place to live in.

  17. No, it's definitely not the world I grew up in nor envisioned for my kids. Their future makes me sad. I can only hope that some things taper off. There's enough other issues to deal with like diseases with no cure that we should be able to focus on.

  18. I would turn the issue and see what can I do in vicinity to keep things the way they should be. Let us also celebrate the children who show so much courage and maturity at such a young age.

  21. Very devastating for some children to have to endure such conditions. Glad you are speaking out about things that some may brush under the table. It's important to mention and get people talking about it. Bravery SHOULD be awarded, but what more can individuals do?

  28. Its devastating that children there have to go through this and those awards shouldn't have to exist because the children shouldn't have to live with those things around them

  29. It's so hearbreaking to think about kids struggling with life instead of being carefree and happy

  30. All these issues you have discussed are 10 times worse in Africa. It's time that someone pointed it out. Thanks for this.

  31. Such a thought-provoking post. We each have a responsibility to help children live in a better world. Even a small act can make a difference!

  32. I didn't know anything about this so I'm glad I read this post. I feel devastated about what some children have to endure and it really isn't right

  33. I"m so sorry you are dealing with these issues in India. Those are definitely not things any parent wants their children to have to deal with. We as parents want a better world for our children.

  34. My heart aches to hear about pains some children have to suffer. I am so thankful there is a ceremony to honor these heroic kids.

  36. The world can be cruel sometimes. Everyone should ban together to make this world a better place. I like the idea of bravery awards to help lift kids spirits.

  37. I was not aware about this award in one hand is great that India recognizes bravery in children but in another is also sad as adults we need to take care of them it is a responsibility we have.

  38. The brighter side of the story is that children are not afraid to face the world. Whenever I look at the pics of children experiencing Syrian war or facing discrimination because of being a refugee breaks my heart million times. Great post!

  39. The way children are treated is deplorable and it's often so far removed from people's day to day lives they have little to no idea it's going on.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I have never heard of this award. children are so innocent and should never endure the things they are forced to.

  41. It is horrible there are sneaky evil people that like to harm children. It is just plain shocking how horrific some people can be.
