Republic Day honors the date on which the Constitution of
India came into effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act
as the governing document of India.
The National Bravery Awards The awards are given by the Government of India and the Indian council for child welfare . The awards
are given to children who were between the ages of six to eighteen when they
committed their acts of bravery.
Every year many kids get bravery awards which is good thing
but what kind of society and country we are giving them. To live here they have
to deal with all these critical conditions called human trafficking, child labor,
child rape, Lack of proper sanitation, poverty, corruption, Debt bondage, poor
education, caste related issues, violence etc.
And we are those adults who are creating this world, full of
these conditions and they have to manage to survive in this beautiful world. They
have to focus on how to make things correct rather than enjoying their life as
kid.
Shame on us.
This is what we are doing.
Take a pause and think about it for a minute.
I am sure you will feel guilty and sorry for them as I am
feeling now.
Think about it.
Is this the world in which you wanted your kid to live????
this is really depressing and it is so sad that the future generations will have to bear all these consequences... the corrupt government and their greediness are the one to be blamed
ReplyDeleteYeah, they are blamed but we are also a part of this society too.
DeleteSo sad what children are put through and expected to endure. I love kids. I'm just glad I do not have any in today's society. It would be so hard to be a parent.
ReplyDeleteI love children as well and it saddens me to think of what these children have to go through in order to survive. It is not fair x
DeleteYes, its really sad and we need to think seriously .
DeleteIt is so sad that many of these kids are born into lives where they will be endangered, groomed and used. That is not okay and we should do everything we can to fight such a corrupt environment x
ReplyDeleteWe need to .
DeleteYes, that does sounds like a difficult award for children to fully understand. Yes, our society could use a little more help.
ReplyDeleteYes, we all need to think.
DeleteI feel shame cause kids don't get the proper education and we do nothing about it... if everyone in this world would have the proper education (and when I say proper I don't mean what they learn to school, and advanced mathematics, and chemistry), world would be a better place!
ReplyDeleteeducation is the key always.
DeleteGosh this is so sad. I always feel ashamed when I read the ways in which society fails our children, great post.
ReplyDeleteYeah this is sad but truth.
DeleteIt's so hard to read about kids that are treated poorly. Makes my heart hurt. I really hope the people are able to solicit government change through grass-roots organizations.
ReplyDeleteyeah, we all need to think .
DeleteSuch a thought provoking post. Very very important that we all take a moment to think about where this world is heading and what our future generations have to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it made me to think also to write this down here.
DeleteSo awful! Children should not be involved in things and matters which are between adults. They can't understand why something bad is happening. I just can't bear it . Children are so innocent.
ReplyDeletewe are ruining their innocence . this is really sad :(
DeleteIt is so sad to think about it like that. The world our children are growing up in really is awful sometimes!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is awful many times :(
DeleteWe should strive to give the kids, our kids, a better future and that includes a better world for them to live in. I hope that this post will open the eyes of many and that it would help people realize that this kind of lifestyle needs to change.
ReplyDeleteI hope so :) Thanks for commenting !
DeleteThe world can be a truly cruel place, no child should have to bare such atrocities. But with this award, gives them hope and praises their courage, it is not a bad thing to give children hopes and dreams.
ReplyDeleteYeah true, its good as well as it shows that kids have to be brave because their elders have failed to give them a good place to live in.
DeleteThis is really saddening , As a mother, I can never see a kid go through all these in this cruel world
ReplyDeleteYeah, its kinda sad.
DeleteThat's so cool that they give awards for kids for bravery in India. There are some kids who go through some crazy stuff and they definitely deserve to be recognized for it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and commenting :)
DeleteAn article that forces you to think about kids and their future.
ReplyDeleteIt's truly a horrible thing to live in a world where children can be neglected and abused. Thank your honest post.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's definitely not the world I grew up in nor envisioned for my kids. Their future makes me sad. I can only hope that some things taper off. There's enough other issues to deal with like diseases with no cure that we should be able to focus on.
ReplyDeleteI would turn the issue and see what can I do in vicinity to keep things the way they should be. Let us also celebrate the children who show so much courage and maturity at such a young age.
ReplyDeleteWe all need to create a safe environment for the future generation. It is now or never.

The world could be a scary place for kids. Especially outside of the US. I work closely with at risk kids in Kenya, Honduras and Ethiopia. it's definitely said the things they have to endure.
ReplyDeleteVery devastating for some children to have to endure such conditions. Glad you are speaking out about things that some may brush under the table. It's important to mention and get people talking about it. Bravery SHOULD be awarded, but what more can individuals do?
ReplyDeleteI so agree with your rules. This is pretty sad--all kids deserve to be loved and protected.
ReplyDeleteThought provoking post..Every individual needs to contribute to make society corruption free and the biggest impact can be by governance.
ReplyDeleteIt's really sad to think of what these children have to go through in order to survive. The world can be a truly cruel place ! We really need to do everything we can to fight such a corrupt environment and we should strive to give any kid a better a better world for them to live in.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thing to have an awards for children in bravery in India. Sometimes, we forget about what children go through in life as such a young age. It would be good to see another countries to follow this lead and do the same thing.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could see India one day :)

How sad to think that they are receiving an award for something they shouldn't even go through to begin with:( Thank you for making us aware of this matter.
ReplyDeleteIts devastating that children there have to go through this and those awards shouldn't have to exist because the children shouldn't have to live with those things around them
ReplyDeleteIt's so hearbreaking to think about kids struggling with life instead of being carefree and happy
ReplyDeleteAll these issues you have discussed are 10 times worse in Africa. It's time that someone pointed it out. Thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteSuch a thought-provoking post. We each have a responsibility to help children live in a better world. Even a small act can make a difference!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know anything about this so I'm glad I read this post. I feel devastated about what some children have to endure and it really isn't right
ReplyDeleteI"m so sorry you are dealing with these issues in India. Those are definitely not things any parent wants their children to have to deal with. We as parents want a better world for our children.
ReplyDeleteMy heart aches to hear about pains some children have to suffer. I am so thankful there is a ceremony to honor these heroic kids.
ReplyDeleteThat is so sad!! I wish I could go rescue them all. I wish that more people in power used their power for good.
ReplyDeleteThe world can be cruel sometimes. Everyone should ban together to make this world a better place. I like the idea of bravery awards to help lift kids spirits.
ReplyDeleteI was not aware about this award in one hand is great that India recognizes bravery in children but in another is also sad as adults we need to take care of them it is a responsibility we have.
ReplyDeleteThe brighter side of the story is that children are not afraid to face the world. Whenever I look at the pics of children experiencing Syrian war or facing discrimination because of being a refugee breaks my heart million times. Great post!
ReplyDeleteThe way children are treated is deplorable and it's often so far removed from people's day to day lives they have little to no idea it's going on.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this award. children are so innocent and should never endure the things they are forced to.
ReplyDeleteIt is horrible there are sneaky evil people that like to harm children. It is just plain shocking how horrific some people can be.
